Alter Bridge release new album “Pawns and Kings”

While you may recognize the strong vocals of Myles Kennedy from “Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators” and Mark Tremonti’s heavy riffs from Creed, the underrated rock group put out some more hard and heavy rock n roll. Alter Bridge released their 7th studio album “Pawns and Kings” on October 14th, which follows their 2019 album “Walk the Sky”.

The band took a different approach while making this album, cutting back on the production and focusing on riffs and melodies. In an interview with stereoboard.com, Kennedy talked about the album’s sound saying “This is more aggressive, it’s a heavier record.”. He also went on to explain their heavier approach before recording saying “I think that’s because we were focussed on making sure all the riffs were really compelling on their own without needing any fancy studio trickery.”

In a recent podcast with “Metal Sucks“, Tremonti referred to the recent events in the world influencing the album, but “This is War” just happened to be a track that lined up with an actual war currently happening. The 10 track album is their shortest album to date, but it also happens to be their longest record.

Alter Bridge embark on their 2023 North American tour along with Mammoth WVH and Red/Pistols of Dawn (select dates vary on opening band). Tour dates can be found below:
