Rock supergroup The Winery Dogs has released the latest single off of their upcoming album titled “Mad World”. The band’s third album titled “III” is available for preorder and will be released on February 3rd.
Kotzen explains the new single saying, “The song is dealing with a certain attitude or way of thinking forced on individuals regardless of your own life experience or unique individuality. I remember a time where opposing opinions and viewpoints were more accepted. A good old healthy debate was a great thing back then. This song is really shining a light on how there may be certain consequences to pay if you don’t think a certain way. It’s also reflected in the lyric, ‘You’d better bite your tongue so you sound the same.’ It also offers a glimmer of hope in its chorus with the line ‘Turn from a scar into a pearl.’ So it’s not all doom and gloom. There’s always a chance to turn things around.”
The band was formed in 2012 by Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) , Richie Kotzen (Poison) and Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth). The group’s new album will once again be self produced and follow their 2015 Billboard chart topping album titled “Hot Streak”.
You can preorder the album on Amazon here. Fans also have a chance of winning a Fender Richie Kotzen Telecaster guitar which can be found here.
Mike Portnoy will also be joining Steve Vai to induct Twisted Sister into the Metal Hall of Fame on January 26th. The 6th annual charity gala will take place at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California and will be hosted by Eddie Trunk and Cathy Rankin. Portnoy previously played drums for Twisted Sister in 2015 and 2016 after their drummer A.J. Pero passed in 2015. Pero and Portnoy were also previous members of heavy metal supergroup Adrenaline Mob.
