In honor of the album the band is releasing a “The Dark Side Of The Moon – 50th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set ” and will officially be available March 24th. “The Dark Side Of The Moon” is the band’s eighth studio album and was released March 1973.
The set includes CD/gatefold vinyl of the new 2023 remastered studio album, Blu-Ray & DVD audio, a CD/LP of The Dark Side Of The Moon – Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974, additional Blu-ray of a Dolby Atmos mix, replica singles, posters, stickers, press invite, a 76-page songbook, 160-page hardcover book with rare photos from the 1973 – 1974 tours and some additional items.
The band released a single titled “Hey Hey Rise Up” to help alleviate the suffering of the Ukrainian people. This is the first new original music that they have recorded together as a band since 1994’s The Division Bell. The band accompanies vocals by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of the Ukrainian band Boombox.
Pink Floyd recently came under criticism by social media users claiming the band was supporting LGBTQ2 Pride movement with the updated logo. True fans know the band had the prism spectrum in their original logo, and was in part to celebrate the band’s stage lighting.
