Linkin Park shares unreleased song “Lost” and Meteora 20th anniversary Box Set

Linkin Park recently posted cryptic messages on social media leaving fans unsure of what the band would be releasing. The messages were shown on what looked like an early 2000’s computer with reference to when you would illegally download Numb from your bedroom and could get a virus on your computer.

The news finally came out that the group would be releasing a new, never-before-heard song from the Meteora archives titled “Lost”. “Lost” did not make it on the original Meteora album due to sounding too similar to Numb. The track was released on Friday, February 10th along with the official music video which combines anime and AI.

The director on the making of the music video, “LOST is a tribute to memories of Linkin Park MVs, early days YouTube AMVs, retro anime, and METEORA. It’s a trip through time and nostalgia juxtaposed with new technology and art styles. Every frame’s a painting, we hope this came out like a weird dream you just woke up from.”

Mike Shinoda comments on the track saying, “Finding ‘Lost’ was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.”

The band also announced they will be releasing a Deluxe Box Set in honor of the 20th anniversary of their second studio album “Meteora”. “Lost” will be among six unreleased songs on Meteora 20, which is available for preorder and will be available April 7th. The set includes unreleased songs, demos, B-sides, live shows and never before seen behind the scenes footage.

In addition to the deluxe box set, fans have the option to purchase a Deluxe Vinyl Box Set, Deluxe CD, Digital Download and Meteora 20 Merch.
