Avenged Sevenfold social media gets hacked

The band was faced with posts on their account that were not made by them. The social media posts had two photos of Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple lineups with the word “Cancelled” over Avenged Sevenfold’s name.

Many fans took to social media to express their confusion as Avenged vocalist M. Shadows responded by saying “Yikes! This is NOT TRUE. We are still playing. Getting to the bottom of this.”

The hackers also created a message using AI Deepfake to recreate M. Shadows’ voice which was posted on the band’s Spotify. The message said that the band was no longer playing Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple due to working on the new album.

Luckily the band was able to delete the false posts and recover their social media accounts. Avenged Sevenfold is still set to play all of their upcoming scheduled shows.

Avenged Sevenfold is set to release their eighth studio album this year, no word on the release date yet. Dummer Brooks Wackerman made an Instagram post back in September of the band in the recording studio with a caption saying “Done”.
