Avenged Sevenfold announce new album and single “Nobody”

Avenged Sevenfold have finally announced a new album after 7 years. The band announced their eighth studio album “Life Is But A Dream…” which drops June 2nd.

The band gave some cryptic hints to fans that new music was coming soon, as their social media got “hacked” and a mysterious countdown appeared on YouTube. The album is inspired by the writing and philosophy of Albert Camus and is lyrically rooted in ‘existentialism and absurdism’.

According to the band’s site “Avenged Sevenfold’s new album, Life Is But A Dream, is best served as a whole and consumed en masse to truly appreciate its musical breadth and sonic depth. Written and recorded over the span of 4 years, it was produced by Joe Barresi and Avenged Sevenfold in Los Angeles and mixed by Andy Wallace in the Poconos, PA. The album is a journey through an existential crisis; a very personal exploration into the meaning, purpose and value of human existence with the anxiety of death always looming.”

“Life Is But A Dream” follows the band’s seventh studio album “The Stage” which was released in 2016. This marks the longest amount of time the band has gone between albums.

Avenged Sevenfold also released the first track off the new album titled “Nobody”. The music video is filmed in an old school traditional style of stop motion and was directed by award-winning director Chris Hopewell.

The band will be playing two major shows this summer with Falling in Reverse and Pussy Riot as support. The first one takes place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA on June 9th and Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY on June 23rd. Presale began today at 12pm for Deathbat Nation presale and tickets go on sale to the public Friday March 17th at 10am via Ticketmaster.com.
