Original Saliva guitarist Wayne Swinny passes away

The last original member of Saliva that was still a current member of the band has passed away at the age of 59. On March 22nd the band made a post to social media stating that guitarist Wayne Swinny was found in medical distress and was placed in the ICU due to a Spontaneous Hemorrhage in his brain. Hours later the band made another post which sadly confirmed that Wayne unfortunately passed.

Saliva was formed in Memphis, Tenessee in 1996 and released their self titled debut album in 1997. The band went on to create many hits such as “Always”, “Click Click Boom”, “Ladies and Gentleman” and more. In 2011, singer Josey Scott announced his departure from the band as he went on to pursue a solo Christian music career. After many lineup changes throughout the year, Swinny remained a member of the band.

Saliva was currently out on tour for the Spring Mayhem Tour with with Through Fire and Any Given Sin. Back in November, the band released a track called “High On Me”, which reached over one million streams on Spotify and will be on the new record out this year.
