Nickelback covers song from Ryan Reynold’s Christmas movie

Nickelback surprised fans this year with a holiday treat. The band released a song and video covering a song from a recently released holiday movie called Spirited. The film is a Christmas musical comedy based on a modern version of Charles Dicken’s 1984 novel “A Christmas Carol” and stars Will Ferrel and Ryan Reynolds.

In honor of the movie’s success of becoming the number one watched movie on Apple TV+, Nickelback recorded a cover of one of the film’s tracks called “Redeemable”. In the beginning of the video Ryan explains how Redeemable is the turning point of the movie and an emotional anthem about whether humanity can overcome their mistakes.

We then see Nickelback sitting down jamming in a room filled with hanging lights and photographs. Fans in the comments recognized that the set of the video is very similar to the band’s video for “If Today Was Your Last Day”. We also see some reference to “Photograph”, as Chad recreates the viral meme of him holding up a photograph and pointing to it, but this time it’s a photo of Will and Ryan holding hands. Guess we can now confirm that Ryan Reynolds is a Nickelback fan.
