2023 Grammy Rock nominations

The 65th Grammy’s will be held on February 5th, 2023 at the Crypto Arena (formerly the Staples Center) in Los Angeles. It will broadcast live on CBS and stream live on demand on Paramount+ from 8 – 11:30 p.m. ET.

The original list of nominees was announced back on November 15th, with 4 different sections under the Rock category. Ozzy Osbourne takes the lead with the highest amount of nominations in the rock category. Machine Gun Kelly has also been nominated for his first Grammy for his latest album, “Mainstream Sellout”. While some in the rock community don’t see Machine Gun Kelly as a true rock n roller, the singer has said in the past they he was snubbed by the award show and has been waiting 10 years for this recognition and now it will give him some closure.

If it were up to me, I would just hand all the awards to the prince of darkness, but you can find the full list of Rock nominees below:

Many in the rock community have commented on how in recent years Rock has been ignored by music award shows, yet has a ton of talent and major fan base. Trunk Nation host and former VH1 That Metal Show host Eddie Trunk comments on this a lot on Twitter, although things don’t seem to change. Like he suggests, metalheads should just start their own award show.
