Ozzy Osbourne officially retires from touring

It’s a sad day for the Prince of Darkness but the decision doesn’t come lightly. Ozzy made an official announcement that due to ongoing health issues, he is no longer able to finish out the rescheduled dates from his farewell tour. The European dates were set to take place this summer with support from Judas Priest.

This year Osbourne had planned to finish out the European leg of his final world tour titled No More Tours II.  The title comes as a reference to his 1992 “No More Tours” tour. The tour was officially announced in 2018, and while Ozzy did complete the North American portion of the tour with support from Stone Sour, he had to postpone the European dates due to illness and then once again due to the Covid pandemic.

For the final tour, Ozzy was backed by Zakk Wylde on guitar, Rob Nicholson on bass, Tommy Clufetos on drums and Adam Wakeman on keyboards. Ozzfest 2018 marks the last time we have gotten a full performance from the legendary rocker, not knowing at the time it could be his last. The Ozzfest New Years Eve bash took place on December 31st at the Forum in Los Angeles, with support from Rob Zombie, Marilyn Mason, Jonathan Davis and Body Count.

Ozzy has had multiple health issues in the past. In 2003, Ozzy suffered a ATV accident, which left him with a fractured vertebrae and eight rib fractures, a partially collapsed lung and a badly fractured left collarbone. In 2019, the singer took a bad fall which triggered injuries from his previous ATV accident. In 2020, Ozzy revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinsons disease, and following that in 2022 Ozzy underwent major surgery for neck and spine issues. In Ozzy’s latest post, he revealed after undergoing three operations, stem cell treatments, physical therapy and Cybernics (HAL) treatment, he is still left feeling fatigued and weak.

While the singer will no longer be doing tours, he does say that he will still figure out a way to perform without traveling from city to city.

Tickets for the cancelled shows will be refunded at the point of purchase.
